Annemijn Bijlsma

My name is Annemijn Bijlsma, I am 20 years old and I just finished my second year of Economics and Business Economics at Maastricht University. I am very excited to take on a new challenge as the Commissioner External Relations Netherlands of SCOPE Maastricht this academic year.

Before I became involved within SCOPE I was already a member of two other committees of different associations, which made me realize how much I like to work in a team and how much I can learn from having hands-on experience. Therefore, I decided to join another committee, now within SCOPE. SCOPE as an association stood out to me because of the high level of professionalism in for example organising its events. Also, the good balance between this professionalism and being easily approachable and fun for the students is something I like a lot. After I became an active member I experienced this even more, which motivated me to do more for the association.

As a board member my goal next year will be to enhance this level of professionalism and to make SCOPE more approachable to all students. As the Commissioner External Relations Netherlands I will be the main contact person for companies in the Netherlands. My goal specific to this position is to make sure the company portfolio will be interesting for all students, embracing our diverse student population with different interests. Next to that, I will maintain the relations SCOPE has built with companies so far.

I am very much looking forward to working together with my fellow board members and to contribute to an even brighter future of SCOPE.
