My name is Jonathan Rusch and I am proud to announce that I am the president of SCOPE for the upcoming academic year. I am 22-years old and I am from Costa Rica and the Netherlands. I grew up all over the globe and finished my secondary education in Harare, Zimbabwe. I am currently wrapping up my bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Economics with a specialization in Economics. It is an honor to be this year's President of SCOPE Maastricht
I have been an active member of SCOPE for the last two academic years, first on the International Economic Orientation Committee, and most recently on the Research and Development Committee. My time as an active member has shown me how contributing this association can be to students, in all aspects of their lives in Maastricht. These two years have motivated me to do a board year so that I can contribute to this association just like this association has contributed so greatly to my student life. I believe that my studies, and time as an active, has taught me a lot of hard and soft skills that are felicitous for the upcoming board year. I am convinced that I will learn even more in the upcoming year. Additionally, I am very excited to share this journey with all the amazing Board members, Pillar Coordinators, and our active members.
I have no doubt that with this team we can guide this association to even greater prosperity for all SBE students. During the last few months, I have gotten to know the rest of the Board and Pillar Coordinators, and I can assure you that I could not have chosen a better group of people myself. Therefore, I hope you are as confident as I am that this year will be the best year SCOPE has seen. However, all of our predecessors have done a stupendous job and have raised the bar high. Improving on their previous work as a challenge I accept with open arms.
I aim to streamline the restructuring that will take place, as well as implementing strategic changes my predecessors have thoughtfully prepared. In addition, I personally aim to guide, support and lead my fellow Board members and Pillar Coordinators to benefit you, as a stakeholder, the most.
