My name is Marlouke Zandbelt, I am 19 years old and I’m from a small village called Lettele, the Netherlands. After being born and raised there, I went to high school at Deventer, which is the nearest big city. When I finished my VWO in 2017, I decided to start my studies in International Business in Maastricht. I’ve always loved the city and I really like the PBL system at our university. I just finished my second year of the IB program.
Next to my studies I like to do what most students like to do; going to the gym, spending time with friends (preferably with some wine) and watching Netflix. However, not many people will know that I also like playing games on the Playstation and that you can always talk to me about the last Formula one
races. During my studies I never really thought about doing a board year, but when the opportunity arose I very gladly took it. Thats why I am proud to say that I am the External relations Commissioner the Netherlands for the academic year 2019 -2020. I think a board year is a good way to develop yourself further and figure out what you want to do when university life comes to an end.
Last year I was also an active for SCOPE. Together with my committee I organized the Maastricht Day of Management. In this committee I was the External for the Netherlands. The challenges I faced last year, and how I solved them, are going to help me solve the problems I will encounter this year. Furthermore, I met a lot of amazing people where our association is build upon. I am very excited to get to know even more of you on our events and our fun Preuv nights!
In the upcoming year, I would like to maintain and improve the relationships with SCOPE’s partner companies. I also want to bring all students in contact with more, exciting companies and hereby creating opportunities for them. Diversifying the company portfolio is also one of my main focus points for next year, thereby continuing the work of previous externals. I have faith that with this amazing team we can improve the quality of our career, academic and social events even more. Besides that, I am looking forward to an amazing year with the board and pillar coordinators
