UN Women presents: Orange the world – combat violence against women

Worldwide, one in three women experiences violence in her life. This is also a major problem in the Netherlands. Research shows that more than 1 in 3 women experiences some form of physical, sexual or psychological violence. This can take place at home, in the catering industry or on the street. The group most affected are young women aged 18 to 25. Worldwide there are 243 million women who have been exposed to physical, sexual or psychological violence. In the past 12 months, this has exploded as a result of the corona crisis. The aim of the "Orange the World" campaign is to combat violence against women by raising awareness among women and men through governments, institutions and organizations. So that the taboo can be broken at all levels and together ensure that girls and women can report violence.
