Your new job | About your key responsibilities
As a work placement intern, you are part of the Audit department . In this role, you are responsible for:

• You support various audit teams during the interim period and/or the year-end audit.

• You will be given responsibilities regarding process description, the financial statement audit, and the audit strategy.
• You are given room for personal and professional development, as you have the opportunity to shadow at various clients.

• Your duties range from drafting process descriptions and reviewing internal controls to auditing balance sheet items in the annual financial statements. You will work within multidisciplinary teams where you look not only at the numbers but also at the underlying business processes.

Your office

You can start working at one of the nine EY offices in the Netherlands: Amsterdam, Arnhem, The Hague, Eindhoven, Groningen, Maastricht, Rotterdam, Utrecht, or Zwolle.

 

Utrecht

Our office in Utrecht is practically right on the highway. An FC Utrecht fan? Galgenwaard Stadium is just around the corner. The rounded shapes make this building particularly special. During your lunch break, you can enjoy your custom-made salad on the sunny terrace.

 

Arnhem

Our office in Arnhem looks a tad classic from the outside, but when you step inside, you enter a super modern environment. There is a "hub" where colleagues gather for lunch and to catch up, but it is also an inspiring place to hold meetings. Thanks to the table tennis table, PlayStation, and foosball table, there is an informal atmosphere in this office where you can easily find a distraction during work. A small-scale EY office on the 2nd floor with open workspaces ensures that colleagues enjoy working here.

 

Amsterdam

Our Amsterdam office is located in the Zuidas: a vibrant area home to many companies. In our Cross Towers, no fewer than 1,500 people are welcomed upon entry every day. For a breathtaking view of Amsterdam, head to the 22nd floor. Collaboration takes on a new meaning thanks to Wavespace. This high-tech environment brings clients and colleagues together virtually worldwide.

 

Eindhoven
Our office in Eindhoven is located in the heart of the innovative Brainport region, where technology, collaboration, and societal impact come together. The office, within walking distance of Eindhoven station, is known for its open atmosphere, direct lines of communication, and typical Brabant conviviality.

 

Rotterdam
Our office in Rotterdam is our headquarters and is beautifully situated on the Maas River with a view of the Erasmus Bridge. You can walk straight into the city, and downstairs you will find a cozy coffee bar. On sunny days, colleagues have lunch outside by the water. An inspiring place with an impressive view and a vibrant atmosphere.

 

Zwolle
Our office in Zwolle has recently been renovated and feels modern and fresh. Its location near the highway makes the office easily accessible. Inside, there is a friendly atmosphere, and because it is a compact office, you quickly get to know everyone. A great place where you collaborate effectively and can act quickly.

 

Groningen

Our office in Groningen has a perfect location close to the highway with ample parking right outside the door. The office is small but nice (ground floor, 1st and 2nd floors) and features inspiring meeting rooms that many teams enjoy using. Due to the size of the office, there is a lot of interaction between the various departments. There is a friendly and cozy atmosphere. The restaurant on the ground floor is known for the delicious fresh and healthy lunch that the team prepares every day.

 

Maastricht

Our Maastricht office is located in the atmospheric old coach house of Vaeshartelt Castle, surrounded by beautiful greenery—a peaceful spot close to the lively city. The office is known for its uncluttered atmosphere and genuine Limburg hospitality. Here, you work together in a pleasant, personal environment.

 

The Hague

Our office in The Hague is a beautiful monumental building that has recently been renovated and modernized. You will find cozy seating areas and functional meeting rooms there. Everything is set up for collaboration. Our colleagues welcome you upon arrival and are ready to serve you with a good cup of coffee at our Coffee Corner or a tasty snack in the afternoon.

 

 

Your abilities and skills | About your unique contribution

• You are available from February.

• You are in the final phase of your bachelor's or master's degree.

• You are pursuing a higher professional or university degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration, or you have a demonstrable affinity with Accountancy.

• You can communicate well in both Dutch and English.

• You enjoy working in diverse teams.

• You are analytical, ambitious, and consider delivering high-quality work a matter of course.

 

Your employment conditions | About your benefits and job satisfaction

 

• An internship allowance of €1,000 gross per month based on 40 hours per week.

• You will receive a contract for a minimum of 24 hours.

• You are entitled to a laptop to write your thesis and carry out work.

• 20 vacation days per year based on a 40-hour work week, to recharge and refuel + the option to purchase more days.

• A travel allowance, if you do not possess a student public transport pass.
