We are Nolan Hayzlett and Sara Hussein Hassan, and we served as the External Relations Commissioners for the academic year 2025-2026.
As External Relations Commissioners, we were responsible for managing relationships with partners and companies interested in collaborating with SCOPE and SBE. Since SCOPE Maastricht continues to grow each year, maintaining a strong and diverse network of companies across industries, countries, and sizes is essential. One of your key responsibilities will be portfolio management, ensuring that the company portfolio aligns with the interests of SBE students.
In addition to acquiring new partners, you will also engage with many companies to encourage their participation in trips and events held in Maastricht and other cities. Many partners are also eager to host Exclusive Events such as (cocktail) workshops, dinners, and in-house days, which you will oversee. One of the most exciting aspects of this role is meeting representatives in person at these events and providing students with valuable career opportunities.
As External Relations Commissioners, you will strategically develop and enhance the partner and company portfolio, collaborating closely with external relations members from various committees. Your role includes training committee members on outreach strategies, maintaining company logbooks, and tracking progress. Additionally, you will work closely with the SBE externals, often exchanging company contacts to strengthen partnerships.
While this position may seem demanding, it is an amazing opportunity to expand your network and develop key skills in sales, negotiation, and communication. You’ll gain insight into various industries and discover where your professional interests lie through direct engagement with companies.
