  • Makomborero Soko

    Hello,

My name is Makomborero Soko, and I am SCOPE Maastricht’s Secretary, IT, and Development Commissioner for the academic year 2024-2025.

If you're reading this, you might be interested in becoming the next Secretary, IT, and Development Commissioner at SCOPE Maastricht. Let me give you a quick insight into what this position has to offer.

    As Secretary:

You’ll work closely with the President on all administrative tasks, ensuring smooth daily operations while managing SCOPE’s internal and external communications. You will also be responsible for organizing GMAs, taking minutes, handling room bookings, overseeing emails, and ensuring that all administrative processes run efficiently. Since the Secretary role is at the heart of the board, you’ll often be the first point of contact for many stakeholders and play a crucial supporting role in board-wide initiatives.

    As IT Commissioner:

You will be responsible for managing and maintaining SCOPE’s entire digital infrastructure. This includes overseeing the website, managing Gengko (our membership database), and ensuring smooth communication systems within the organization. Now that we have fully transitioned to Microsoft 365, you will also serve as an admin for SCOPE on M365, managing user accounts, cloud storage, security settings, and ensuring our digital operations run smoothly. Additionally, you’ll work with the IT Committee to optimize workflows and implement new tech solutions that benefit the association.

    As Development Commissioner:

You will manage several committees within the Development Pillar, including the Alumni Committee, IT Committee, Database Committee, Sustainability Committee, Maastricht Acquisition Committee, and the Volunteering Committee. This means coordinating diverse projects, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring that the Development Pillar continues evolving to serve SCOPE’s long-term strategic goals.

    Why this role is exciting:

This position is a great mix of strategic planning and hands-on operational work. You’ll gain valuable experience in leadership, project management, and IT system administration while working with a dynamic team. Whether it’s shaping SCOPE’s digital future, streamlining processes, or engaging with stakeholders, this role provides the perfect challenge for someone looking to make an impact.
