If you're here for the career side, this is about as real as it gets at SBE. SCOPE works directly with firms like KPMG, Deloitte, EY, etc. and Active Members are the ones actually running those relationships: managing budgets, coordinating with partners, and delivering events companies invest real money into. You're not observing how a company negotiation or an event budget works, you're the one doing it. That's a very different story to tell in a future interview than "I attended."
If you're here for the people, that side is just as real. There's the seven or eight people on your own committee, who you'll end up spending a serious amount of time with between deadlines and event nights. And then there's everyone else, because every week SCOPE comes together at our own bar for drinks, which is where committees mix, friendships spill over, and the SCOPE community actually becomes one thing instead of a bunch of separate teams.
Most people end up wanting both, and that's exactly what SCOPE is built for. You get real ownership over something that matters to actual companies, and a group of people around you the whole way through, in your committee and beyond it.

The application process consists of submitting your CV and motivation letter, followed by an individual interview. Interviews run September 7th–11th, with results out the following week.
